It's mid-December, and life is starting to feel a little crazy. Up until today, I'd managed to park Christmas and all thoughts of it 'over there somewhere'... you know, off to the left and out of my direct line of sight. Now with 10 days to go, the Christmas crazy has hit. I'm writing present lists, thinking about food preparation, mentally preparing myself for a long day with my whole family (I love them to bits, but with 25+ people and four of them under the age of two, they can get a little nuts!) And of course, everyone wants to catch up over drinks and eat crappy fatty food, and sleep is in short supply.
The best way I know how to slow back down is with a spot of mellow, chilled yoga - a little bit Yin and a little bit Restorative - and some meditation. When the world's going mad around you, just sit and be still!
Here's my little sequence to stave of the Christmas Crazy. You could hold each pose for as little as eight slow breaths, or (better!) as long as five minutes. Enjoy!
